The Sixth Annual Life Sciences & Society Symposium This conference will focus on the provocative new work arising from intersections between the life sciences and art. It will highlight emerging areas of research and practice across and between disciplines, examining biological contexts of our response to art and aesthetic contexts of our response to scientific visualizations, as well as the twenty-first century art that has found inspiration at their convergence. In the process, the talks will inquire into the relationship between artistic and scientific invention. For more information, please visit our website at http://muconf.missouri.edu.

Columbia Weight Loss Group Meetup We'll discuss our weeks and basically support each other to keep going. It's easy to get discouraged at times...let's support each other! Grab a coffee...or not! If you can come with the goals you'd like to achieve, and we can also record your weight if you're ready. Also think of other locations you'd like for this group to meet at (we could do "walking meetups" if you'd like). See you there!

I Love Movies Trivia Night- Join Our Table! The Missouri Film Commission hosts this event annually as a fundraiser, and I have attended the last two of them and had a blast! I hope we'll have a stellar team this year! Tickets are $20 (benefits the Missouri Film Commission). Each table can have up to 8 players. Bring your own food and drinks to share with the table. The event is about 2-3 hours long, with 10 themed rounds of 10 questions each. All of the questions are movie-related. Because of the limit on the number of players at the table, and cost associated, please only RSVP if you are committed to playing with us that night (and ready to send in a check to the event organizers)! I have set a deadline of March 1 on RSVPs, but I hope to fill this table way before that, so don't put this off. Let me know as soon as possible if you're planning to join us! It will be a lot of fun! If you have questions, feel free to email me directly! We will have to work out how to get payment made. If you are interested in this event and would like to make up your own table, contact me and I will share the information. This event is one of my favorites of the year and we will have a great time!
